New stalls to look out for at your markets

New stalls to look out for at your markets

In other news across the markets: At Twickenham, we said a heartfelt goodbye on 28th February to Roy, Angela and Charlotte of Manor Farm Shop, who have been part of the market for over 25 years. Roy’s final market was an emotional one and we thank them for their dedication and wonderful produce over the years, wishing them all the very best for the future.

At West Hampstead, we were delighted to meet the lucky winner of our Love Your Market Valentine’s hamper when she recently came to collect her prize. Thank you to everyone who took part and to our fantastic traders who helped make the hamper so special.

And at Wimbledon, parents of children at Wimbledon Park Primary School are invited to take part in our Mother’s Day competition. The first 100 respondents can collect a £20 voucher at Wimbledon Farmers Market on Saturday 14th March, and all entrants will be entered into a draw to win a hamper filled with market produce (vouchers valid on 14 March only).

Seasonal highlights for March

Mother’s Day – Sunday 15th March
Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in the UK since the 16th century, when families gathered after Lent to share special meals. Treat Mum to something delicious from the market and cook with our veg and meat of the month: leeks and lamb — perfect for dishes like slow-roast lamb with buttery leeks, shepherd’s pie, or a light spring lamb and leek tart.

As lamb is our meat of the month, we’re pleased to highlight Lavinton Lamb, a family farm in Lincolnshire producing high-welfare lamb. They attend Parliament Hill in week 1 each month.

National Black Pudding Day – 18th March
One of Britain’s oldest traditional foods, black pudding dates back centuries and remains a staple of hearty regional cooking. Pick some up from our traders including:

This is the time of abundance here in the UK with spectacular displays of fruit and veg to be found across the markets. Have a look at our what is in season page.
