The aim of Hook and Son is to manage a dairy herd that is truly sustainable. They converted the farm to organic farming methods in 1998, achieving Soil Association certification in August 2000. This means that they farm without the use of any chemicals or routine antibiotics. Their milk is raw, it hasn't been pasteurised or homogenised, and nothing has been added or taken away. The pastures are free of fertilisers and pesticides. Hook and Son are proud to say that they work with nature, so that their cows are happy in a stress free environment. The national average life of a dairy cow is six years. Their cows' average age is nine.
Hook and Son bring organic raw whole, semi, and skimmed milk, raw cream, raw butter (lightly salted and unsalted), and ghee (made from their own raw butter).
