25 years of London Farmers Markets!
Our first market opened in Islington in June 1999. On Sunday the 23rd of June we will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at Islington Farmers Market. Please join us if you can.
At 10am some of the original Farmers Market Pioneers who attended that first market in 1999 will ring the bell to open the market. Find one of the LFM team (look for someone in an orange Hi-Viz) to get one of 25 vouchers for a free tea or coffee from Abol Coffee. There will be a cake from The Female Glaze and a bun-cake from Bread Bread to share, and The Union Chapel Singers will join us at 1pm.

We are delighted that chef Francesco Mazzei will be with us at Islington too. Francesco is recognised as one of the great Italian chefs of our time, having worked in five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe, Asia, the United States, and the Middle East. How lucky are we that Francesco has made Islington his home and Islington Farmers Market of course...his favourite place to shop! Francesco will be cooking and offering samples of the wonderful food he cooks to customers at the market.
We would really love it if you could be there and join in our Jubilee day.

Rain, rain, go away.
Traditionally the month of May brings the sunshine and not the showers. Someone should tell it! We still have a lot of rain in the forecasts and farmers in parts of the country are struggling to harvest waterlogged fields.
No shortage of fresh veg at the markets though from crisp greens and radishes to sweet spring onions and asparagus. Be sure to get your hands on some new season strawberries as they start to make an appearance - there's nothing quite like their unbeatable flavour and aroma.
