Cultivating K&C is a newly incorporated charity (March 2016) currently we are into the first few months of our three year business plan and are growing fruit and vegetable seedlings at our market garden site. This is on an old disused platform at Kensington Olympia station. Volunteers are being trained at the site by our head grower and then a team of volunteers are selling the seedlings to the public.
The objectives are, through the efforts of our solely volunteer work force, to promote horticulture and environmental improvements in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea by:-
1. Growing fruit and vegetable seedlings in the market garden site at Olympia and then selling these at various venues throughout the year to the public and then to distribute the profit made, as grant funding to community garden schemes and community gardening;
2. Offering training to volunteers at the market garden, and
3. Promoting the benefits of community gardening, in particular fruit and vegetable growing, by providing workshops and attending community events
