Welcome to summer, it's cherry season.
The first cherries of the season have arrived at our farmers market. The months leading up to the first pick are a fraught time for farmers, checking the weather conditions for their fleeting and fragile crop.
We have beautiful varieties here, including Napoleons, known as Naps with their white blushed flesh. Sadly, most UK cherry orchards have been grubbed up, so do buy English cherries and show your support for this beautiful fruit.
At farm stalls such as Perry Court, taste your favourite before you buy. It’s not uncommon to see customers leaving their farmers’ market loaded down with fruit baskets.
In Medieval times cherry fairs celebrated the season. Now we're happy to gorge on cherries for as long as they last.

Happy birthday to us. We're 20 years old this year.
We've welcomed broad beans, courgette flowers and green and yellow courgettes to market. Don't miss the range of beautiful aubergines, peas, artichokes, basil, spring onions, fresh garlic, young carrots and so much more.
We've extended market hours at Pimlico
We receive a lot of questions about packaging and plastic usage at our markets. It is an imporant issue that requires action from everyone. Read more to see what is being done.
