Home cook Poppy Smadja is passionate about fine quality, pure and unrefined cooking. She makes wickedly tasty and original quiches, tarts and sweet tarts using only the highest calibre of ingredients from local farms and foragers. Expect to find some English classics like rice puddings, burnt creams and almond tarts, along with some unexpected surprises like beetroot, rosewater and pistachio cake on the sweet tip and wild garlic and goats curd pisaladiere on a more savoury note. Salads are piled high with seasonal English ingredients and tinged Moorish inspiration; spiced cauliflower, red onion and breadcrumbs, cinnamon baked crown prince with yoghurt and sumac and horseradish and almond saltbaked beetroot salad with chervil. The menu changes weekly in accordance with the best of the season and Poppy's sudden bursts of inspiration.
